RECREATION GROUND.
(To the Editor Gisborne Times.)
Sir,—Apparently Urn time has arrived when the West End must again think of asserting, its might on behalf of the right. The other evening the Borough Council took over the Band rotunda which took so long to build, but no mention was made of an opening ceremony. First blow. Next we read a meaning and mean little paragraph ’about it costing £lO9 to lay gas on, and how there would have as a matter of course have been gas at the discarded Point. .Second blow* Then on Sunday, we find the Rifle Band prefers the beach, witii a very Weak southerly wind blowing, vin preference to the sheltered Recreation ground, where there was a handsome rotunda, scats, and every advantage not possessed by the beach on such a wintry day. There it was all blow, the wind scattering the sweet strain of music in a most incongruous way. West Enders, perhaps, wilL be pleased to note the trend of things at the present time, for there is an election nigh. This gentle reminder, however’ by the way^—l am, etc.,
A PRO-REC.
