LICENSING ELECTIONS.

Per Press Association. Napier, last night

The following nominations have been received for tho forthcoming licensing election :—Messrs Anderson, Cranby,

Eagleton, Edwards, Macdonald, McVay, Smith, Williams, Gibson, Large, Saunders, Dr. Caro, and Rev. H. Miller. The last named five are temperance nominees, and the remainder are eithor independent or representatives of the moderate party. The nominations for the Hawke’s Bay licensing district are : —Mossrs A. L. D. Fraser, M.H.R., R. Fitzroy, McLeod, Dennett, and Captain Howard. INQUEST.

At tho inquest on the body of the man Joseph Cosgrove, the jury found a verdict that deceased died from drinking crude carbolio aoid while temporarily of unsound mind.
