ACCIDENTALLY POISONED
A FATAL MISTAKE.
£Pec Press Association),
Auckland, last night.
This afternoon Mrs Elizabeth Stokes was accidentally poisoned by carbolic acid with fatal results. Being thirsty she took a drink from a beer bottle in which a neighbor kept carbolic acid for disinfecting purposes. A beer label being on the bottle, the woman thought it was beer. She soon became unconscious, and in spite of the efforts of the doctors, eventually expired.
