MANAWTU RAILWAY.

The annual report of the directors of the Wellington-Manawatu Railway Company, which recommends payment at the rato of sis per cont. per annum and a bonus of 2s per share, shows that the gross earnings of the railway were £111,898, being £7OOO greater than in the previous The land sold during the yoar amounted in value to £51,812. The revenuo from traffic was £109,168, and from land £54,498. These items, with the balance from last year and the amounts received for deposits and interest, raised tho total receipts to JG241.590. Tho total expenditure was £232,165, including jG10,361 for dividends, and cash balances amounting to £9424. The net profit on railway accounts was £10,361, and on land account £4308. The amount not availablo for dividends is set down as follows : Land account on 28th February, 1902, £55,370; net profit on land sales for the year ended February, 1903, £30,912 ; total, £86,283. The assets amount to £1,002,128.
