“ I took over the Albion Club Hotel in January, 1900, from Mrs Downes, paying £IOOO goodwill and 111645 stock and furniture. The rental of the hotel wasi£lo per week. I started with a capital of £I2OO, and the balance 1 borrowed from Messrs Barry and Matthewson. I spent about £2OO in improvements to buildings. In the hope of improving a not too brisk business, I leased sample rooms and spent some considerable sum in fitting them up, but could not find tenants. Business has gradually fallen away and my mortgagees entered into possession and Bold the properties. The prices realised were below the values I placed on the same. After the sale I considered it wise to call a meeting of my creditors, and in accordance with a resolution then passed I filed my petition in bankruptcy. I have no offer to make.”
The first meeting of creditors is fixed ior the 24th inst.
