FIRE AT WAIHI.
Per Press Association., f Waihi, Saturday. At about four o clock this morning a destructive fire occurred in the main street, destroying five buiidings-Ross and Pearce’s, boarding house, fruit and boot shops, and the Salvation Army barracks. The origin of the fire is unknown.
Later, —The insurances in connection with the Main street fire this; morning were : W. H. Ross, building and billiard table, £250 in the Imperial ; Ross and Pearce, boarding-house, £SOO in the Royal; Earl’s building £145, stock and futnituta-£4O iu the New Zeeland Office,
