THE GISBORNE TIMES.
By an advertisement elsewhere, our readers will observe that two of the partners in the Gisborne Times, Messrs Hamilton T. Jones and W. J. P. Gaudin, have purchased the interest of the other partner, Mr E. A. Slack. We lake this opportunity of thanking the many friends who, by their patronage, have assisted us in placing the Times among the leading morning journals in the colony.. The Times has the advantage of covering the largest and richest area in New Zealand, and has a local sphere extending from Opotiki on the one side to Napier on the other. Our aim has been to see this fertile district developed, and to have such progress as is.'in keeping with its rich natural endowments.
Tlie proprietors of the Times intend to make every effort to keep the paper well to the front as a leading morning journal, and with this object in view no expense will be spared. In this respect, our efforts can be greatly facilitated by an early settlement of outstanding accounts, and we ask those indebted to the firm to kindly forward remittances.
