(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. Judgment was given to-day in the actions brought by the Mapourika River Gold Dredging Company J

against three of the directors, Evans, Tait, and Palmer, a claim for calls. The case disclosed a curious position.* Plaintiff company was non-suited, on the ground that as defendants, as directors, had not paid their calls, they, could not be sued as shareholders, the law providing that shareholders cannot be sued unless directors’ calls are paid.
