Further information in regard to the Ramsgate tragedy show that Henson, after a violent quarrel, lighted a fuse, and his son (who was blown to pieces) was killed in trying to extinguish it. Meanwhile, the father cut his wife's throat, and then his own throat.

Mr Redmond moved an amendment, appealing to the Government to seize the unexampled opportunity of settling the land difficulty on the lines of the Dublin Conference. lie -warned Mr Wyudham that the State would lie expected to make a free grant of the difference between the sums tenants were willing to pay and what Mr Morley estimated that a free grant of two millions and a loan of one hundred millions would he required. It was possible that economies of administration would largely recoup the free grant. He believed that it would not cost the State more than fifty thousand pounds a year. He added that even if the land question were settled, Home Rule would remain. Mr Wyndham declined to make a future pronouncement. He referred sympathetically to the conference as encouraging :i hope that Ireland’s despondency would he removed. Mr ,W.
