UNIVERSITY SENATE
'(Per Press Association.)' Christchurch, last night.
Tho Committee on tho conduct of examinations reported to tho University Senate that if they woro satisfied that- the
candidates were guilty of dishonesty in tho recent matriculation examination, the candidates should bo disqualified till December, 1905. The Committee also recommended that- tho supervisor might dccliuo to receive answers of candidates who failed to appear in tho examination room dressed as becomes students of tho University. Tho Senate took no stops in the matter. Four ad oudem degrees wero granted. Tho Modical Committeo reported that tho following had passed four subjects of tho intermediate medical examination :—A. E. Barton, A. T. M. Blair, W. E. Carswell, J. B. Class, E. G. Cotter, A. F. E. Crawford, J. P. Hastings, C. E. Howden, Emma Irwin, EL E. Jeffreys, Beatrice lvippenbergcr, E. L. March ant, W. F. Neil, T. C. Patterson, C. 11. Tcwsley, J. N. Watt, J. T. W. Wilkin and J. S. Wilson. Tho following passed in biology, physics, and in organic chemistry E. C. Barnett, Alico M? Burnet, J. Hughes, J. Miller, 11. J. Barton, A. B. Green, and E. Webb ; in biology and physics : G.' B. Connor, W. H. C. Patrick, J. N. Spedding, and J. McK. Withers ; in physics and in organic chemistry : E. McEao and S. H. Ward ; in organic chemistry : E. E. T. T. Emg. The following passed in both subjects of tho first professional examination C. G. Aickin, Winifred I. Bathgate, P. IT. Buck, Eosa Collier, W. A. Fairclough, T. Fergus, E. H. Howard, A. Kinder, G. H. Mirarns, J. H. G. Eobertson, J. F. Eobortson, and W. M. Thomson. Tho following passed in anatomy : A. E. Barton, A. T. M. Blair, A. F. E. Crawford, Emma Irwin, and T. C. Patterson, J. H. G. Eobertson passed in three subjects and second professional.
and the following passed in pathology and materia mediea : Winifred I. Bathgate, P. fl. Buck, Rosa Collier, T. Fergus, E. 11. Howard, A. Kinder, 3. 11. Mirams, -I. I. Robertson. The following passed all subjects of the third professional examination : \v. F. Browne, F. R. Ilotop, C. C. Lillie, J. J). Marks, W. F. Paterson, U. I. Ritchie, L. S. Talbot. The following passed in all subjects, and are entitled to receive degrees on forwarding the required certificates: Eleanor 8. Baker and E. M. Livcsey.
