Timaru, last night,
Tho annual meeting of tho T'maru Gas Company was hold to-night. Tho receipts for tho year wore .£6341 14s 8d ; ordinary exponses, .G 4526 Os lid. A new plant had been added, to tho valuo of £IBB3 3s Gd. An interim dividend of 5 por cent, had been paid, and a similar dividend was proposed and carried now. The coal carbonised last year was 1565 tons, and tho gas result nearly eightoen million feet, an incrcaso of two and a half millions on the provious year. Tho Chairruon iritimatod that it would be necessary to lay out a largo sum this year for enlarging tho plant and oxtending tho mains, necessitating a call on shareholders.
