At tho Divorce Court to-day a decree nisi was granted in re George Manning versus Margaret Manning. A public meeting to-day, called by the Mayor at tho request of Mrs Seddon, decided to form a branch of the New Zealand Soldiers’ Graves Guild.

Tho Kohinoor dredge obtained 86oz for 116 hours’ work.

At the instance of the Health Department the City Council has decided to serve notieo on the owners of the New Zealander and Western Hotels that their premises must bo demolished within a certain period. This probably means the rebuilding of the two hotels, which are in the city limits.

A Molbourno firm has 'secured the Admiralty contract for supplying the China station with coal. Tho steamers will secure supplies from Westport as last year.
