PETITION DISMISSED. Per Press Association; Dunedin, last night. Mr Cruickshank at Gore this afternoon gave judgment on the petition to have the Mataura licensing poll declared void. As to the allegation that tho strict legal time was not absolutely kept at certain polling booths, he found that petitioners failed to prove their case. No irregularity which affected tho fairness or tended to defeat tho fairness of the election had been proved. Petitioners having failed under both sub-sections to prove their case, the petition was dismissed.
