The piece was 3 splendidly staged, and all members of the company appeared to great advantage in t their respective characters. Miss Carr rington came in for the chief honors of 3 the evening, and gave a telling and 3 effective impersonation of the part of - “ Gabrielle,” To-night the great Austras lian play “ The Mystery of a Hansom : Cab ” will be ataged, and should attract a i largo audience. The novel of that title is one that lends itself admirably to drama- , tisation. It abounds with thrilling situa- , tions, and the plot is interwoven with an | element of mystery that irresistibly appeals to the average individual. Mr Taylor will play the dual role of Sam Garby (a private detective) and Mr Fitzhardrington (an English swell), and Miss Carrington will appear as the Australian heroine, Madge Frettleby.
