The top price for y greasy was lid, and scoured 20 jd. 0 At the Homebush sales tho demand for 0 sheep was good. Best wethers sold at 15s, good at from 133 to 14s. Best ewes o sold at 14s Gd. good at 13s 6d. For cattle < values are firmer, the best builocke selling 3 at £l3 5s and good at £lO 10s. Best cows s sold at £lO ss, good at £7. Best beef 1 realised 37s 7d per 1001 b.
i LONDON MARKET. 1 [By Telegraph—l J ress Association.] Wellington last night. The following cable has been received from tho Agent General, dated London, 14th inst: —“ Tho mutton market is weak, with dull sales for all qualities of mutton. Tho average price to-day for Canterbury mutton is 4„d, Dunedin, Southland and Wellington Meat Export Company 4grl, other North Islaud mutton 4d, River Plato mutton R7,d, Unitod States iijd.
Thcro is a good demand for all lamb. The average price to-day of New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, is G:jd. New Zealand lamb, brands other than Canterbury fj.Jd, Australian lamb 5.{ d, llivcr Plato lamb 0 jd. Thero is scarcely any demand for frozen beef. The supplies of American chilled beef are large. Quotations for New Zealand beef (nominal): Hinds 3,’, fores 3d. The butter market is lifoless, some holders of butter forcing sales. The market has been unfavorably affected by Canadian stored buttor. The prico of buttor to-day is 99s per cwt. Danish is at 108 s, Argentine 975, Canadian 935, Siberian 935. The cheese market is firm. The price of New Zealand cheese ! is 63s per cwt, Canadian 645. The prico of hemp, good fair Wellington grade, on spot to-day is £32, January to March shipments £29. There is a hotter demand for cocksfoot seed. The average price today for New Zealand, 171 b standard, iB 64s : per cwt.”
