It was Mr Reid’s duty to take tho monoy from the warehouse to tho boot factory, which is situated behind tho railway station. Evidently someone who knew the routine of the business waited for Reid, and as ho passed a vacant section near tho boot factory came out through a hole in the fence, struck Reid a stunning blow from behind, and then putting tho sack over his head cleared out with tho £276 Reid was carrying. Mr Reid, who is 213 yoars of ago, was lator on found in a semi conscious condition, and removed to the hospital, where ho has rolapsed into unconsciousness without having spoken so far.
