President Castro thanked Mr Bowen, and congratulated him on his success in getting tho blockade raised. On learning Germany’s demand for cash payment, Mr Carnegie, unreservedly aud without mentioning security, ottered Mr Bowen three hundred and sixty thousand dollars cash, to meet tho demand.
