EXCITING RACE.
BRITISHERS DEFEAT AMERICAN BLUEJACKETS. by Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Received 1.5 a.m., Feb. 17. Sydney, Fob. 17. At the Anniver=ary Regatta Jast month a race between boats from the American transport Graeier and the Royal Arthur were rowed, the latter winning. American bluejackets wero not satisfied with tho result and challenged the victors. A thousand spectators thronged tire harbor to witness the contest, including naval authorities and members of the Government. Tho Britishers beat the Americans by about ten lengths. There was great excitement.
