THE DROUGHT.
SORROWFUL TALE. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Feb. 14. The drought relief fund has reached fifteen hundred pounds. Pitiful stories of suffering are coming to hand from all parts of the country. A sense of pride with the poor settlers in the back country prevents a full knowledge of their misery being known. Many, however, are on the verge of starvation. One family were found to be so poorly fed as to be unable to walk any distance. Black ruin faces hundreds of hard-working settlers.
