FATAL ACCIDENT

This afternoon a fatal accident happened in some drainage works in Upper Queen street, whereby a workman named Baskerville lost his life. Laskerville was working with some otUer men in excavating, which was fairly deep, and one side of the excavation caved in and ouned the unfortunate man up to the neck, pinning him against the opposite wail. It was seen at once that Baskerville was seriously injured, and prompt measures were taken to get him out. When this was done, however, it was seen that the injuries were very serious. Medical skill was of no avail, and the unfortunate man must have died shortly after the fail of earth. Baskerville was a married man with a large family.
