Tho Victorian Employers’ Federation has passed a resolution that Government expenditure in tho direction of railways, old ago ponsions, and education should bo further diminished before further taxation in the shapo of income tax and other probable duties aro imposed. A girl named Ruby Wilson was accidentally shot at Stamnore, New South Wales. A bullet passed through her body, apparently without causing serious injury. The accident was caused by tho explosion of a magazine revolver, the mechanism of which was being explained by a returned soldier.
The Colac (Victoria) District Hospital Committee has decided to exclude all patients who suffer fiom consumption of the lungs. This decision has been come to after lengthy consideration, on tho grounds that patients afflicted with consumption of the lungs are a danger to the health of the other patients in the hospital. Some idea of tho general failure of the New South Wales wheat crop may be gainod from the fact that the grain sheds in the country are practically idle. Out of the 26 shedsjerected by the Commissioners at stations north, south, and west, only throe have been leased by the local farmers for the current season.
