The American system of light tram lines, if adopted in this colony, would be of incalculable benefit, and enable largo areas to bo opened up sooner and more choaply than by the ordinary roads, which take, even under tho most favorable conditions, a long time to make, and are very costly—New Plymouth News. Just now the country is sorely in need of a strong and capable Minister for Lands, one with the courage and ability to reform the law both of tenure and settlement. Tho Premier, with all his gifts, is not equal to tho task, but, if he choose, he may find the man to do it. Wellington Post. If a collection were made of the abuse, misrepresentation, and condemnation heapod upon the Government by the members supporting them and the journals run in Seddonian special interest, the Opposition party would not be “ in it.”— Mannwatu Standard.
