Spencer Barnes, of Auckland, who was an absentee yesterday, will compete in the mile championship and 880yds handicap, and more interest is consequently taken in tho long distanco ovents, as ho is likely to extend Smith more than those opposing the Queonslandcr yestorday. Tho 220yds championship resulted: Furrie 1, Somers 2, Brandon 3. Won easily, in 24sec. Later. Tho Championship Meeting concluded to-day, in line weathor. There was a good attendance. Tho results were ; _22oydß championship : Turrio 1, Somors 2, Brandon 3; time 24sec. Milo cycle: Clarkson 1, Nattrass 2, Draffin 3 ; time 2.31 1-5. 220yds flat (amateur): Williams 1. 880yds flat handicap: D. Smith (scr) 1, S. Barns (25yds) 2, A. Durrie (50yds) 3 ; time 1.57 2-5, a record. Tho track was discovered to be one foot over the quarter of a mile. Mile walk : Kerr 1, MoColl 2, Johansen 3. 440yds hurdlos championship : Watts 1, Campbell 2, Wyoth 3; time 62 1-5. 220yds fiat handicap : Patterson (9yds) 1, Watts (12yds) 2, Morgan (20yds) 3. Mile flat championship : D. Smith 1, A. Campbell 2. S. Barnes 3. Reol: McKechnie 1, Forbes 2, Smith 3. Music (pibroch 3): Campbell 1, McKenzie 2, Morrison 3. Pannovirko won tho banner with 130
points, Wellington having 87 points. ! Carlson wins Lord Ranfurly’s gold medal for champion athlete. Tho one and a-half mile cycle resulted: Brunette 1, Nattrass 2, Clarkson 3.
