A patrol dhow in charge of Lieutenant Bcvan, manned by six bluejackets, and .vith a three-pounder, made a valuable capture off the Somati coast. Those on board.feigned distress and sent ft Somali nativo to the masthead to signal. They lured an Arab dhow within range, and a thrilling fight ensued. The dhow was captured, and found to be in possession of French papers from Jibutil, also having 80 French rifles, 10,000 rounds of ammunition, 7000 revolvers and cartridges, intended to bo sent to the Mullah by a circuitous route. Those were confiscated, and the dhow sunk. Lieutenant Colonel Cobbo, with 450 men of the African Rifles and 50 Sikhs, is starting from Obbia for a fortnight’s reconnaissance towards Galkayru Wells, the Mullah’s headquurters. Colonol Cobbe has been awarded tho Victoria Cross for eouspicuous bravery at Erego, when tho Mullah surprised a British column.
