GISBORNE’S NEIGHBOR CHOOSES SATURDAY. Per Press Associati >n. Napier, last night. The Borough Council at their meeting to-night decided that Saturday should be observed as the weekly half-holiday for the present year.

Christchurch, last night. The annual conference of delegates from the local bodies decided by nine to five od Thursday as the day for the weekly half-holiday. Petitions of five thousand signatures for Saturday and twenty thousand for Thursday were received.
