POVERTY BAY ROWING CLUB’S DOUBLE SCULLS.
On Saturday evening the first round of tho double scull competition of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club was completed, when two more beats were disposed of. The first race was between J. Roderick R- Tait K. McLeod, 5 sec G. Peterson, 5 sec These crews having the same handicap wore despatched to an oven start, from which McLeod’s boat soon obtained a load, which they shortly aiterwardc increased. Peterson and Tait strained every nerve to get on oven terms, but McLeod and Roderick were not to bo causht. ning as they liked. Tho second race \yee to between
