For tho Auckland Racing Club’s summer moeting, second day, the weather was fine and there was a good attendance. The tote receipts for tho day were £13,080. In tho Welter Handicap Mr S. Teague’s gelding Romeo won easily, and in addition to a protest boing lodged against the stake going to his party on tho grounds of inconsistent running, the stewards took the matter up, with the result that the horse, trainer (Jones) and rider (Edwards) were disqualilied during tho pleasure of the stewards. Tho results were : Alexandra Handicap.—Okoari 1. Pallas 2, Landlock 3. Scratched : Formula, Despatch, Romeo, and Jewellery. Won by a length. Timo, 1.28). Diva. £5 13s and £l6 6s.
Second Handicap Hurdles. —-Miss Drury 1. Inchcape 2, Cannongate 3. Scratched : Papatu and Perseverance. Won comfortably by two longths. Time, 3.24}. Divs. £2 8s 6d and £1 3s. Criterion Handicap.—ldaca I, Dclania 2, Stibbington 3. Won by half a length. Merry Soult fell. Timo 1.19), divs. £5 Os and 13s 6d. Summer Cup.—Wairiki 1, Golden Rose 2, Jewellery 3. Scratched : Orlolf and Porirua. Won by throe lengths from end to ond. Timo '2.11], divs. £4 63 6d and £2 Is. Weltor Handicap.—Despatch 1, Tho Needlo 2. Scratched: Tresham. Won by four longths oasily by Romeo, who was disqualified, and the investments on him ’Woro returned, loss 10 per cont. Timo 1.42,‘, divs. £4 18s 6tl and £1 8s Od.
