OTICE is hereby given that the J3I Gisborne Borough Council will hold a Meeting, at the Council Chambers, Lowe street, Gisborne, on TUESDAY, lith January, 1903, at 7.30 for the purpose of confirming the following Resolutions “ That for the purpose of the establishment of Public Abattoirs, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby decides to raise a Special Loan of illooo front the Government, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901,” and amendments thereof, for a term of forty-one years, at the rate of 3.1 per cent, per annum. It is proposed to pay the cost of Raising the Loan and First Year’s Interest out of Loan.” “ That for the purpose of providing the Interest and Sinking Fund, and other charges, on a Loan of £-1000, authorised to lie raised by the Gisborne Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901,” for the establishment of Public Abattoirs, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a Special Rate of One Penny in the Pound sterling upon the annual rateable valuation or all rateable property within the Borough of Gisborne, as defined iu New Zcjiliuid Gazette of pith May, 1377, folio u2(> ; and that such Special Rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid oft ; the rate of interest on such loan being per cent, per annum ; and it is further resolved that the interest upon the loan shall lie paid out of the charges, rents and tolls accruing from such Public Abattoirs, and in tluit case the Special Kate not l)C collected except to make good any deficiency that may occur through the revenue from such Abattoirs being insufficient to meet the interest and lawful charges upon the loan.” R. With Gas at the Reduced rate, and with the marvellous results obtained from the Welsbach Burner, every house in Gisborne should adopt Gas for lighting purposes; and, in order to facilitate the fitting up of houses witli necessary piping, gaslittings, burners, etc., the Company are prepared to undertake this work at COST PRICE, for Cash, or on EASY TIME PAYMENTS. It is hoped that this SUBSTANTIAL REDUCTION in price, and the inexpensive and easy method of obtaining fittings, will render Gas still more acceptable to the Public as an Illume nant, and that it will lead to such a development in its use as will enable i further substantial reduction in price to be made at an early date.
