PAKARAE RACES.
There was a very large crowd at the Pakarae races yesterday, everything going off splendidly. The officers worked together capitally for the success of the gathering, the duties of secretary for the day being ably undertaken by Mr T. P. 0. Xicholls. Mr Gault acted as judge ; Mr Williams, starter; Mr Lynch, clerk of scales ; Mr Turanganui, clerk of course ; and the handicapper was Mr J. Kennedy. The Club secretary was Mr Tardieu, and Mr Shaw was treasurer. There wero capital fields and exciting finishes, the results being: Maiden Scurry: Jacob 1, Craze 2, Muphy 3. Flying Handicap : ltosie’s Borax 1, Howard’s Alangamahako 2, Martin’s Shillawee 3. Pakarae Cup : Borax 1, Mangamahako 2, Malcolm 3. District Handicap : Blue Moon 1, Malcolm 2, Tapahera 3. Blue Moon won easily. Forced Handicap : Vivacity 1, Tapahera 2, Kaiti 3. Leaping Competition: There wero a largo number of entries, and it was won by Kaiti after a hard-fought battlo with Te Whiti.
