Bv Teleeraph—Press Association. ASHBURTON, last night. Messrs Huston and Son’s general store, at ' e East Bolt, was totally destroyed by font about 2.30 this morning. _ lte building and stock wore insured in tho Nojth British for £275. WELLINGTON, last nightA building in Willis street, owned by ! B. Martin, and occupied by F. W. Gough, engineer and cycle manufacturer, and AWcdcMs, furniture maker, was destroyed bv fire early this morning. The insurance on tho building amounts to ,£2OO m the Commercial Union; on Gough’s stock, etc., £3OO in tho Australian Allianco ; Wedegis’ stock, etc., £IOO in the South British. Tho boarding house adjoining, belonging to Fox’s estate, occupied by Mrs Bell, was severely damaged. -the insurance on tho building is £SOO in tho South British, and on Mrs Bell's furniture £IOO in the Alliance.
