WOERALL APOLOGISES AND WITHDRAWS. By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, Dee. 23. At a mooting of the Crickot Association a lettor signed by Darling and Trumblo was road, stating that tho Australian eiovon unanimously docidcd not to play with Worrall owing to tho Phillips incident. It was also stated that Phillips showed Worrall’s lottor to them. Worrall made a statement, in which ho said ho did not know what tho lettor contained and had writton to Phillips for a copy of it. What ho wrote was at Phillips’ solicitation. Ho declared ho had fallen into a trap. If ho said anything derogatory to the playors, ho thoroupon publicly and oponly recanted. Ho admitted he had mado a mistake, and added that tho whoio thing was a deliberate attempt to ruin him. After a lengthy discussion, Worrall announced that ho intended to voluntarily withdraw from the current season's inter-Stato engagements. Tho difficulty is thus onded.
