Ilu purser of the ElingumitJ gave further Evidence to-day regarding certain statements made in Mr Wotherilt s ovideuce, lie said that tho statement that witness personally objected to take the stewardess off the raft was not true. Idle reason she was not taken off was that the boat was leaking and shipping water. Witness called out to tho stewardess, asking it she would come with them. Ho did not knuw whcthei-she heard or not, but stio seomod to stiake tier tread. Ho did not rofuso to take tier. Ho did not tioai Wotnenlt ask turn to take a uue, and did not know there was a line on tho raft. He did not recollect Wctherilt asking that tho raft should not be left to the mercy of the waves. At the time ho thought tlicy acted for the best, but now he saw tlioy had done wrong; but ho thought at tho time tho raft had more chaueo than tho boat, as the boat might have capsized.
