By Telegraph—Press Association. Thames, last night. Mr McGowan is being consulted on the present condition of the Thames-Hauraki Company, in liquidation, the owners of tho huge pumping plant for drawing the Thames low levels. It is understood that at the end of December the plant will be taken possession of if claims due are not satisfied. Mr McGowan will be entertained at a banquet to night in recognition of his services in Parliament as a member for the Thames.

Owing to the smallness of the grant for the Goldfields Cadets, Os a year, together with the fact that they are not allowed to be attached to volunteer corps prepared to assist, the Thames Cadet Corps have been disbanded,
