The Manawatu Racing Club to-night decided to add to their programme of tho vutuinn meeting of 1004 a six-furlong vaco for two and three-year olds (woight for age), tho stakos to be 400sovs. Nominations aro to bo received early noxt year, and tho raco will bo called tho Manawatu Stakes. CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. The schools of tho district broke up for tho Christmas holidays to-day. The public ceremony in connection with tho closing of the recently-established District High School to night was largely attended, and proved a great success.
