BOY SHOOTS HIS MOTHER,

By Telegraph—Press Association. Hokitika, last night. _ A serious accident is reported from Kumara. A young man named Frederick Richards, while handling a pea-rifle, accidentally shot his mother in the back, the ball passing through the abdomen. The case is considered to be serious.

Later.—Mrs W. T. Richards, of Ivumara, who was accidentally shot by hc-r son on Saturday, succumbed to her injuries this evening.
