SOUTHLAND SHOW.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Invercargill, last night. Tho Southland A. and P. Show opened to day in perfect weather. Both in number and quality of exhibits the show surpasses any previously held here, especially in the sheep and cattle classes. Champion certificates were awarded as follows : Border Leicesters, ram and ewe, Little Bros. ; English Leicesters, ram, Little Bros.; owe, A. Murdoch; Romney Marsh, ram, W. Telford ; owe, Jas, Gardiner ; Lincoln, ram and ewe, J. B. Sutton ; Southdown, ram and ewe, J. Johns ; Shropshire Down, ram and owe, J. Johns; Cheviot ram and ewe, Castlerock Estate ; Merino ewe, W. Telford ; Shorthorn bull, D. Murray ; cow, A. Anderson; Hereford bull and cow, J. Holmes; Polled Angus bull and heifer,
Castlerock Estate; Jersey bull and cow, G. C. Totbill. Little Bros, secured special prizes for most points in Border Leicesters and English Leicesters, W. Telford in Romneys, and F. B. Sutton in Lincolns. In sheep most suitable for freezing, A. Howie won in a class for ten wethers, D. Murray for five Crossbred wethers, George Burnett for 10 fat lambs, and Hugh MeColl for fat lambs.
