It also states that even the Naval Contribution Bill is likely to prove a difficult measure to get through, and it is doubtful if flic New Guinea Bill will lie taken in the coming session.* SEVERE RETRENCHMENT IN RAILWAY SERVICE. At a meeting of the Railway Employees’ Association an announcement was made that between live hundred and six hundred men had'received notice of dismissal, their services not being required after the present month.
