At a meeting of the Trottina Association the appeal from the decision of the Awatore Racing Club, disqualifying Merry for starting before time in Ihe race, was dismissed, the disqualification being on a question of fact. A batch of applications from trainers and riders ior licenses was received from the Auckland Trotting Club, but as no fees were forwarded the applications were not considered. LOCAL OPTION POLL, A re-count of the Lyttelton local option figures shows that reduction was lost by 37 votes.
