TROTTING ASSOCIATION. By Telegraph— Press Association. Christchurch, lest night. At a meeting of the Trottina Association the appeal from the decision of the Awatore Racing Club, disqualifying Merry for starting before time in Ihe race, was dismissed, the disqualification being on a question of fact. A batch of applications from trainers and riders ior licenses was received from the Auckland Trotting Club, but as no fees were forwarded the applications were not considered. LOCAL OPTION POLL, A re-count of the Lyttelton local option figures shows that reduction was lost by 37 votes. Tho number of voters was 3847, and the vote? recorded for continuance were 1782, reduction 1900, and no license 2012,
