(Per Press Association); AUCKLAND, Saturday. It is stated on good authority that Judge Conolly has no intention to retire at the end oi the year. He intends taking the next criminal sating at Auckland, and also to attend the Court of Appeal. He will not -be entitled to hid full pension this year.
MAORIES PREDICT AN ERUPTION.
MR. DONNE ATTEMPTS TO SOOTH THEIR FEARS.
AUCKLAND. Saturday. A general exodus of Maoris from Whakarewarewa, has taken place this week in consequence of the prediction by a tohunea of an eruption in Geyser Valley. ~ , The Government are making experiments at Whakarewarewa to endeavour to revive the quiescent Waikite geyser. The natives became alarmed The tohunea fixed the eruption for Friday. The Maoris left for other settlements.
Mr Dcnne. of the Tourist Department, endeavoured to sooth their fears and made a counter prediction that there Would be no outbreak.
