TRADE CONGRESS.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrigh Sydney, Nov. 28. The Trade Congress resolved that tho judgment in the Tail Vale case is an infringement of Trades Union rights, and urging Labor and Liberal members in State Parliaments to have a law passed exempting trades unions, their officials, and members from the operation of such a judgment. The Conference adopted resolutions in favor of the nationalisation of the liquor traffic; trades unionists purchasing necessaries upon a purely cooperative principle ; and State or municipal lodging houses for female workers.
HARD KNOCKS FOR GOVERNORS.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Nov. 28. A resolution was carried at the Trade Congress that State Governors were no longer necessary. The speakers argued that- since Federation the State Governorships were relegated to retired soldiers and decrepit sailors, and their duties could be performed by Chief Justices. The Congress also adopted the committee's recommendation for the federation of State labor organisations.
