CHINESE CONSPIRACY.
TWO ENGINEERS CHARGED WITH MURDER. THREE CELESTIALS COMMITTED FOR PERJURY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Nov. 27. At the Criminal Court Kerr, chief, and t'cngolly, second engineers of tho Btcamcr thing Tu, were charged with murder of a Chinese member of the crew in July last. Evidence similar to that given at tho initial trial was given by three Chinese for tho prosecution. The accused denied tho charges. After a quantity of evidence for the defence was taken, tho jury intimated that thoy did not wish to hear more. They dosirod to return n verdict of not guilty. In reply, tho Judge said that he did not boliovo tho cvidcnco of tho threo Chinese, and thereupon committed the three for perjury, and, in discharging the accused, said they left the Court without a stain on their character. He was satisfied that tho evidence brought against them was wicked perjury.
