WELLINGTON WOOL SALES.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The first wool sale of the season wag held to-day. A thousand bales were offered, and all sold. There was a fair attendance of buyers. The sale was held under the favorable influence of the news from London regarding the opening of the November sales there, and all lots were well competed for at enhanced prices. There was an all-rouDd advance on prices current this time last year of per pound. Coarse wools, which comprise so large a proportion of Wellington catslogues, participate to the fullest extent in the advance. Prices ruled as follows : Super, fine crossbreds, 5d to crossbred and Romney, 4jd to 5d ; coarse crossbred Lincolns, 4d to and superior 3d to 4d ; pieces and bellies, 2d to 3d ; locks, Id to 2d. Fine wools catajogued at to-day’s sale brought 9jd for Merino, and 64d to 7d for halfbreds.
