SENTENCED TO TWO YEARS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, last night. At the Supreme Court to-day Joseph Brown and his wife Julia Brown were found guilty of false registration of birth, and were sentenced to the maximum penalty of two years each. The evidence snowed that the accused had obtained the child from its mother, and registered it in their own name, the motive being to obtain money from a man who was charged with being the father of the child, by Mrs Brown, who never had a child.
