Wellington, last night. The Presbyterian Assembly to-night passed a resolution expressing the opinion that tho tirno had now como to seriously consider whothcrthe union of Churches may not bo accomplished. A committeo was appointed to communicate this resolution to the next annual session of tho Wesleyan Conference and congregations, and in the event of tho proposal receiving a favorable reception tho coinmitteo is to bring np a report at next Assembly indicating the main lines of the doctrine and policy. Tho report on Sabbath school statistics showed there were 217 fewer teachers, but 8923 rnoro scholars. There were 357 fower Bible-class scholars than in 1901.
