WANGANUI SEAT. ’(Per Press Association). Wanganui, last night. Messrs A ? Willis (Liberal), P. Lundon (Independent Libera,'?, aud Baker (Opposition), were to-day nominated for the Wanganui seat. Mr A. D. Willis addressed a large audience this evening, and received a vote of thanks and confidence.

CAREFUL FINANCE REQUIRED.

{Per Press Association.) Christchurch, last night. Mr A. H. Turnbull, President of the Cantcrbary Chamber of Commerce, who is a candidate for Christchurch City, addressed a meeting in the Choral Hall this evening, and was accorded a vote of thanks. He supported the Liberal policy, but advocated careful finance. The total number of names on Christchurch roll is 19,970 against 21,331 in 1899 ; Avon, •3661 against 5023 ; Riccarton, 4122 against 4782.
