FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT.

(By Teiegrapn—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. An accident occurred at Ellerslie railway station to-day, resultiug in the death of "jlr W. JlcFarquhar, of Onehunga. The train had stopped, and was starting again afte-r the passengers had alighted, when McFarquhar appeared on the plat- | form of a carriage and jumped off with his I back to the engine. He was thrown down I and rolled on to the rails under the wheels. The train was stopped promptly, but the wheels of one carriage had gone over the unfortunate man, who was terribly man"led, and expired soon after.
