NAVAL AGREEMENT
By Telegraph— Press Association—Copyright Melbourne Nov. 11. Speaking at a banquet re the instalment of Mayor Gillott, Sir Edmund Barton defended the new naval agreement. He said the theory of a fleet which could be kept selfishly at borne was wrong. If Australasia established and maintained a squadron herself it would cost £520,000 yearly. Under the agreement she would get a similar squadron at a cost of £240,000 yearly. _
