ARMY CONTRACTS.
NEW PROVISION AS TO MEAT SUPPLIES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, Nov. 7. A report has been received from the Government Commercial Agent in London that a clause is being inserted in the new Army contracts that frozen mutton rations must be supplied from British colonics. The clause was to come into operation on November Ist, but owing to the drought in Australia, and consequent high prices, it is doubtful whether it will be given effect to at present.
