The stocks of lamb on hand are light and firmly held in few hands. The average price to day for New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, is sjd; other than Canterbury 5Jd. The Beef market is dull ; New Zealand hinds 4;)d, fores Id. The butter market is steady; Danish litis, Canadian 102 s. The cheese market is firm. The price to-day is 55s per cwt. Tne hemp market is depressed. Keports from Manila indicate that heavy shipments are expected. The > average price of good, fair Wellington : grade on spot to day is Too, November to January shipnaefits £OO. The industries and Coinmeiee Department are advised by cable from the AgentGeneral that importations of River Plate j into the United Kingdom during the j month of October were as followsi Mutton 211,120 carcases, of which 146,920 ; carcases were landed at Liverpool, 50,526 j at London, and 13,671 a: Southampton;; iamb. 747 carcases landed at London. The : average prices realised for these shipments j were—mutton 4 Vd, lamb old.
