A LAST APPEAL.

THE SALVATION ARMY’S SELFDENIAL WEEK.

MY DEAR FRIEND,— Wo would bring beforo you yet onco again tho claims of Self denial Week. Alter these years, it is hardly necessary that we should explain to you its moaning, it is our united yearly offering to tho Lord on behalf of His noody ones all over tho world. Wo invito you to join in its self-denial, and wo can promise you a share of its blessings, for God will bo no man’s debtor. Wo do what we can, and though in the face of overwhelming statistics that may seem but a drop in tho ocean of hoathonism and vice, still wo do it, following the Divine command, which says: “Go ye forth into all tho world." And tho heathen of India, the Zulus, Kaffirs, Bochuanas, Mushonas of Africa, tho natives of the Sandwich Isles, Japan, Java, the Maoris, and Australian Aborigines, have reason to bless our obodiouco. Is it aoy wonder that wo are over crying, “ Give, give ” —we who have heard the call to go forth aud compel them to come iu ? Wo are ready to go, we are ready to do our part; will you do yours ? WHAT WILL YOU DO TO HELP ? If God has blessed you with means, give as His Spirit prompts you. It may bo a small offering, but don't Withhold it. Ilf God says " Give,” you are just as guilty in His sight as the man who withholds his thousands. In union is strength, and so for tho sake of those who know nothing of our God, and those to whom ho is a name and nothing more, we ask you to join in this our annual effort. Yours faithfully, THUS. McKIE, Commissioned

With reference to the abovo appeal, the Officer in charge of the Army work iu Uisborno, wishes it to be known that two meetings to bo held on Wednesday and Thursday next, will be tho final meetings for this year’s Self-Denial effoit, donations for which uro still requested. We have pleasure i t commending tho abovo to tho sympathy and support of our readors.
